Hi All,

Just joined the forum. I believe my number is 666 .... some guyas have all the luck.

I am considering starting up a mobile catering business but at the moment I'm just researching. I thought I would join up to learn a little more about this industry.

Regards,

Damien.

Hi and welcome Damien.
There are a few mobile caterers on here so any questions should get an answer sooner or later. It's also worth searching the Forum so see if we have discussed it before.
How far down the road are you with your research?
DW

I'm fine, it's all the others!

Hello and welcome to the forum. :thuleft:

We would be very interested to hear more about your project and DW is correct in saying we have members in that field to answer any questions.

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies.

Regarding where I am at ...

My main income comes from driving. However, as I am self employed, I can't fill each hour of the day with business and thus need to find extra income to meet the demands of everyday life (without having to go back to working for someone).
I am therefore considering mobile catering.
I have a couple of sites in mind (and trailors). I think that my main challenges would be securing a site with little rent fees and storing food and equipment at home. The latter being my main concern, in order to satisfy the local environmental health department.

I am sure there must be food storage systems around that can be suitable for domestic garages, surely most mobile caterers
use their home as the main base.

Thanks again for your welcome.

Daryl.

(I have a great memory ... I can't remember the last time I forgot something).

Hello and welcome Daryl. Yes self employed is certainly the way to go if you enjoy your freedom to carve your own path in life.

If you have no food preparation carried out at your home I am pretty sure that commerial grade fridges and freezers should be fine if situated a clean area.
