I just read an article that says that this still might happen???

Apparently bids may be made by Hershey and Nestle which may force Kraft to up thier bid!?

So it looks like some time soon Cadbury could have new owners! See this article - http://www.reuters.com/article/innovati ... HJ20091201

I wonder who the new owners might be though?

What do you guys think?

Today as the deadline approaches for Cadbury shareholders to accept an offer made by Kraft - many are left wondering what guarantee there is for their jobs!

Today staff employed by Cadbury will gather in London to try and get ministers to give them some guarantees over jobs and the future investment of the company. So far Kraft have not given any indication of how things will be, should they take over, which is quite worrying seeing thier history with Terry's.

At the end of the day unless there are guarantees who is to say what they will do? Why should they be loyal to British workers?

I guess we have to wait and see what the outcome is don't we?

Latest Update:

Well there you have it people Kraft taking over Cadbury has definitely lead to some cuts being made in jobs! The focus on the cuts are primarily going to be on the London Jobs al though some will also be cut Birmingham may also go!

They are saying the jobs are partially due to Cadbury being taken off the Stock Exchange next week???? They do not have a number yet to say how many people will be made redundant! Apparently they want to retain “skilled” Cadbury people!!!! Hmmmmm! They are estimating the losses to be approximately 150 jobs.

Kraft is definitely going to be making more cuts after this that’s for sure! As it is they have plans to move the factory in Keynsham in 2011! I think price will matter more than keeping UK jobs for them don’t you?

How many more people do you think will be out of work and doing up their CV’s because of them in the next few years?
